
Mavericks to Attend Youth Hockey Practices

INDEPENDENCE, MO (Dec. 3, 2015)- Missouri Mavericks players will turn back the clock as they relive their youth hockey days during several Kansas City Youth Hockey Association (KCYHA) practices over the next two weeks.
Mavs players will be on the ice with multiple youth hockey teams throughout the KC metro area, offering coaching, encouragement, and accounts of their personal experiences growing up playing hockey.
This initiative is part of the Missouri Mavericks overall mission to grow interest and participation, in hockey at the youth level throughout Greater Kansas City.
The full schedule of Missouri Mavericks players appearances at the practices is listed below. (Specific players attending TBA). Additionally, Mac, the Missouri Mavericks mascot, will make appearances (unless noted *).

Under the KCYHA umbrella are six house leagues, and three travel division programs. Each league, and travel program are comprised of teams ranging from the 'under 8' - Bantam (U15) age divisions.
Throughout the season, the Missouri Mavericks offer special ticket discounts and deals exclusive to KCYHA families. Additionally, all youth teams have the opportunity to "skate where the pros play" during intermissions at Mavericks select home games.
The Mavs will host the Wichita Thunder on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. The Mavs will be wearing specialty "throwback" jerseys during the game which will be auctioned off in a live auction directly after the game in sections 101 and 102. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit Community Services League (CSL).
The ZOOperstars will be performing during the first period intermission of the Mavericks game, don't miss your chance to see the hilarious performance of this national act!
The Mavericks annual Teddy Bear Toss event will also take place on Saturday evening. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used (clean) teddy bears and stuffed animals to the game to be thrown on the ice when the Mavericks score their first goal of the night. The toys will be collected and donated to Community Services League (CSL) and Friends of Special People.
