
Komets Acquire Perry from Alaska

Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets announced Thursday that they have traded forward Peter Sivak to the Alaska Aces for forward Joe Perry.
Perry, 26, logged his first pro season last year skating 54 ECHL games with Quad City. The Nanaimo, British Columbia native led the Mallards with 26 goals and ranked fourth with 43 points. Perry also added six AHL games with Iowa. Prior to turning pro, Perry capped a four-year collegiate career with St. Norbert College in 2013-14 leading the NCHA (Northern Collegiate Hockey Association) with 24 goals in 32 regular season games before helping St. Norbert capture the 2014 NCAA III Championship.
The second-year pro began this season appearing in 20 games with Alaska scoring four goals and seven points. Perry joins Fort Wayne with ECHL totals of 30 goals, 50 points and 53 penalty minutes in 54 games.
Sivak appeared in 10 games with the Komets scoring two goals, eight points and four penalty minutes.
The Komets also announced that forward Shawn Skelly has been released and forwards Matthew Larke and Dean Ouellet have been added to the 21-day injured-reserve list.
The Komets visit intrastate rival Evansville Friday at 8:15pm ET for their only game of the week. It's the first of six meetings this season and the first of three trips to Evansville.
STAR WARS NIGHT NEXT-- The Komets and Preferred Automotive Group present Star Wars Night at the next home game Friday, Dec. 11 at 8pm against intrastate rival Indy Fuel. Fans are invited to celebrate the upcoming release of the film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens at the game. The Komets will wear special Star Wars jerseys which will be auctioned off to benefit Camp Whatcha Wanna Do. Fans can also meet their favorite Star Wars characters and free lightsabers will be given away to the first 1,000 fans.
Komets play to win for the American Kidney Fund-- Komet forward Mike Embach is looking for CauseMates to help those afflicted with kidney disease. The Komets host eight home games during December and will be accepting pledges for every home win during the month. Embach's mother Cindy is affected with stage five kidney disease and the Komets ask for the support of all fans in the fight against kidney disease.
