Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, AK - Collin Bowman tipped home a shot by Ludwig Karlsson with 41.1 seconds remaining in overtime to give the visiting Colorado Eagles a 2-1 victory over the Alaska Aces Wednesday.

Bowman's goal was the 25th shot on goal for the Eagles (8-10-2-0), who were outshot in the game by the Aces (6-12-1-2) 40-25.

Colorado scored first, as Derek Rodwell knocked home a rebound of the Channing Boe shot at 8:18 of the first period.

That 1-0 lead would last until the third period, when Alaska's Tommaso Traversa snapped a rebound of a William Wrenn shot under the crossbar at 2:54.

Overtime was mostly in favor of the Aces, as they outshot the Eagles 5-2.

But that second shot was lethal, as Bowman was able to get a stick on Karlsson's shot, deflecting it downward and underneath Steven Summerhays leg pads and into the net.

Colorado goaltender Tate Maris, signed earlier in the day on an emergency basis, stopped 39 Alaska shots in just his second professional appearance. Summerhays finished the game with 23 saves.

Alaska and Colorado will play again Friday and Saturday at Sullivan Arena.

Get your Aces vs Eagles tickets by stopping by the Aces ticket office Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday noon to 5pm at 15th and Gambell, or go online at www.alaskaaces.com.
