EVANSVILLE, IN - The Missouri Mavericks won their thirteenth consecutive game on Wednesday night on the road in Evansville, Indiana. The 3-0 shutout victory over the Evansville IceMen places Missouri as just the eighth team in ECHL history to win thirteen games in a row, and boosts the Mavs up another two points atop the ECHL standings.
The Mavericks 18-2-0-1 record is their best start in franchise history. Missouri has not dropped a game since Oct. 31st.
The Mavs, fresh from a perfect 12-0 November, took an aggressive approach to the start of their first game in December, limiting the IceMen to just three shots on goal through the first twenty minutes of play while they themselves scored three unanswered goals.

Defenseman, Kane Lafranchise opened up the scoreboard with the Mavericks first goal off a rebound at 8:58, assisted by Josh Holmstrom. Lafranchise's third goal of the season was rapidly followed up just thirty-eight seconds later by Tyler Barnes' eleventh lamp-lighter in a Mavs sweater for a 2-0 lead at 9:36. Carter Verhaeghe was credited with the lone assist on Barnes' goal.
Then at 14:23, Barnes notched the final tally of the night, assisted by Verhaeghe and Jesse Root.
Mavericks goaltender, Parker Milner, made eighteen saves through a full sixty minutes of play between the pipes for Missouri. The Pittsburgh, PA native is ranked second in the league amongst top net-minders with a 1.40 goals-against average (GAA) and a .944 save percentage (SV%).
The Mavs return home to host the Wichita Thunder on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. The Mavs will be wearing specialty "throwback" jerseys during the game which will be auctioned off in a live auction directly after the game in sections 101 and 102. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit Community Services League (CSL).
The ZOOperstars will be performing during the first period intermission of the Mavericks game, don't miss your chance to see the hilarious performance of this national act!
The Mavericks annual Teddy Bear Toss event will also take place on Saturday evening. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used (clean) teddy bears and stuffed animals to the game to be thrown on the ice when the Mavericks score their first goal of the night. The toys will be collected and donated to Community Services League (CSL) and Friends of Special People.
Tickets for all Missouri Mavericks home games are available online at TicketMaster.com and in-person at the arena box office.
