Norfolk Admirals News Release
NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announce today that the ECHL club has signed forward Quinn Smith and released forward Peter MacIntyre. In addition, the American Hockey League's (AHL) Springfield Falcons have recalled goaltender Tyler Beskorowany from the Admirals.
Smith, 23, dressed twice for the Admirals when they visited Manchester last month during the team's seven-game road trip. Though the 5-foot-8, 165-pound attacker went scoreless in his professional debut on Nov. 21, he scored his first pro goal and point the next day against the Monarchs. The Fairfield, Conn. native played four seasons at Boston College, including the first two with current Admiral Steven Whitney. Smith totaled 18 goals and 24 assists in 148 career games with the Eagles.
MacIntyre, 24, posted an assist in three games for Norfolk this season. The 6-foot-5, 190-pounder joined the Admirals at the end of the last road trip and played last Wednesday and Friday against Greenville and Manchester, respectively. He recorded his first professional point in his pro debut on Nov. 22 against the Monarchs.
Beskorowany, 25, gets the call back to Springfield after one game for Norfolk in his second stint in Hampton Roads. In four appearances as an Admiral, the Sudbury, ON local went 0-3-0 and finished with a 3.17 goals-against average and .919 save percentage.
Norfolk closes out a four-game homestand tonight when the Admirals host the South Carolina Stingrays for the first time this season. Game time is 7:15 p.m. and includes a big announcement from the Norfolk Tides during intermission. Tickets are available at the Scope Box Office, ticketmaster.com, or charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000.
