December 5, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kansas City Mavericks News Release
Independence, MO (December 5, 2014) - The Missouri Mavericks have acquired defenseman Zach Josepher from the Wichita Thunder ahead of their home game on Saturday, December 6th at Independence Events Center, in exchange for future considerations.
Josepher, 26, has yet to play in a game this season for the Thunder but played 60 games in the Central Hockey League last year with the St. Charles Chill. The Wantagh, New York native finished with three goals and seven assists to go along with 61 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, the 6-0, 190-pound defenseman played two seasons at Michigan State University (2009-11) and two seasons at SUNY-Oswego (2011-13) where he collectively scored 18 goals with 45 assists.
The Mavericks return to the ice on Saturday night when they host the Tulsa Oilers at the Independence Events Center with face-off set for 7:05 PM (CST).
The Missouri Mavericks will host their sixth annual "Teddy Bear Toss" during their home matchup. Fans who wish to participate in the "Teddy Bear Toss" are asked to bring the new or gently used teddy bears and stuffed animals to the game on December 6th --individually wrapped in plastic bags if possible. When the Mavs score their first goal of the contest, fans can toss the toys onto the ice to be collected for local children's charities throughout the Kansas City area.
Tickets to the December 6th "Teddy Bear Toss" game are available for purchase online at TicketMaster.com or in-person at the Silverstein Eye Centers Box Office, located on the East side of Independence Events Center.
