Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays and Jackals Collide for the First Time as Division Rivals in Lone

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays take on the Elmira Jackals tonight at 7:05 at First Arena in Elmira, New York to open a three-game road trip. Tonight is the first and only regular-season meeting between the two teams and the first-ever contest between the sides as East Division rivals.

Stingrays Face Former Atlantic Division Foes in Road Trip:

The Stingrays visit former Atlantic Division opponents in the Jackals and Reading Royals (Tomorrow and Sunday) during the three-game in three-day road trip. The two teams joined the five former South Division squads (South Carolina, Greenville, Orlando, Florida and Gwinnett) last summer to form the ECHL's East Division. The top four teams in the East Division will qualify for the 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Series Breakdown:

The Stingrays hold an all-time record of 13-7-0 against the Jackals and went 3-1-0-0 against Elmira last season. Forward Wayne Simpson led the Stingrays in the series with three points (one goal, two assists).

On a Streak:

The Stingrays enter tonight's matchup on a three-game winning streak, defeating the Gwinnett Gladiators last week Thursday, 3-2 in overtime, 3-2 Saturday afternoon in regulation and 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Bellamy Returns:

Stingrays forward Rob Bellamy returns to the Twin Tiers for the first time after spending the last three seasons with the Jackals. In 204 games with Elmira, the Westfield, Massachusetts, native registered 48 goals and 62 assists for 110 points.

Picking up the Points:

Forward Braden Pimm enters tonight's contest on a three-game goal scoring streak (three goals) and forward Brandon Hynes is riding a three-game point streak (two goals, one assist).

The Stingrays continue a three-game in three-day road trip tomorrow, Saturday December 6 against the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 at 5:05 p.m. at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania.
