
Minnesota Assigns G Johan Gustafsson and Lw Raphael Bussieres to Aces

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, the 2014 Kelly Cup champions, announced today that the Minnesota Wild have assigned goaltender Johan Gustafsson (GUHS-taf-son, JOE-hahn) and left winger Raphael Bussieres (BOOH-see-air, RAF-eye-el) to the Aces from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.
Gustafsson, 22, was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and is 16-29-5 with a shutout and .900 save percentage in 54 career AHL appearances with Iowa.
He had 12 wins in 40 appearances last season as a rookie with a .903 save percentage last season and previously backstopped Team Sweden to gold medals at the World Junior Championships (2011-12) and in the World Championships (2012-13).
The 6-foot-2, 199 pound goaltender was recalled last season to Minnesota and carries 131 games of experience in the Swedish Elite League with Farjestad BK and Lulea HF, with a 32-33-4 record, 13 shutouts and 2.25 goals-against-average.
Bussieres, 21, was selected by Minnesota in the second round (46th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and has 19 points in 67 career games with Iowa. He earned a career-high 68 points (29g-39a) in 60 games, adding a +27 rating with Baie-Comeau of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The 6-foot-1, 194-pound left winger skated in the CHL Top Prospects Game in 2011-12 and notched 168 career points in 226 major junior games with Baie-Comeau and Moncton.
Gustafsson (#1) and Busierres (#13) are expected to be available to suit up for Alaska tonight, who return to play against the host Stockton Thunder at 6:30 p.m. (KFQD/ECHL.TV).
