INDIANAPOLIS - Following a back-and-forth contest that saw three total lead changes and a 6-6 tie entering the ninth inning, Mason Martin knocked a single through the right side to give the Indianapolis Indians a walk-off win over the St. Paul Saints and snap a five-game losing skid on Saturday night, 7-6.

A two-out RBI single off the bat of Travis Swaggerty tied the game at 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh, a score that would hold until the Indians (42-47) came to the plate in the ninth inning. With one out, an error by first baseman Miguel Sano and seven-pitch walk to Travis Swaggerty allowed Madris to reach safely and move to scoring position as the game-winning run. On the first pitch to him, Martin shot a single through an infield hole off Wladimir Pinto (L, 3-4) and Madris raced around third, beating the throw to home plate to end the game.

Following a leadoff home run by Spencer Steer on the third pitch of the ballgame, the Indians responded with a four-run burst in the bottom of the opening frame for the first of three lead changes. Rodolfo Castro lifted a two-run homer just over the right field fence to put the Indians in front. Jack Suwinski roped an opposite field double that led to another two-run home run, this time by Madris, to take a 4-1 advantage.

The Saints (43-47) clawed back to tie the game at 4-4 with two-run blast and RBI single by the rehabbing Sano in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively. Castro then countered on the first pitch of the bottom of the fifth with his second homer of the ballgame.

The sixth home run of the game, a two-run shot off the bat of St. Paul's Curtis Terry, gave the opposing team a 6-5 lead in the sixth inning.

Eleven of St. Paul's 12 runs came in the first six innings of the contest, with Eric Hanhold, Cam Vieaux and Eric Stout (W, 3-2) combining for just one hit allowed over the final three frames.

Castro's two-homer game was the ninth of his career and second with Indianapolis, the last coming on Sept. 23, 2021 at Omaha. It was also the second consecutive multi-homer game by an Indians batter, following Jack Suwinski's two-homer effort on Friday night.

The Indians and Saints will play the rubber match tomorrow afternoon at Victory Field at 1:35 PM ET. RHP Mike Burrows (0-2, 6.50) will take the hill for Indy against RHP Cole Sands (1-4, 5.45).
