Toronto Marlies News Release

A proud member of the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies announced today that right wing Jeremy Williams has been recognized as the Movado/Esquire Community Player of the Month for the month of December, 2006. In addition to appearing at Toronto East General Hospital for the launch of their annual Christmas card fundraiser on November 30, Williams made five more appearances in the year's final month and will be presented with a watch on behalf of Movado prior to Thursday evening's home game.

Williams, who turns 23 on Friday, has been limited to only 14 games this season due to an injury sustained on November 17 at Springfield. He has amassed 10 points on the campaign (three goals, seven assists) while collecting eight penalty minutes. Williams made his NHL debut in the Maple Leafs' final game of 2005-06 and scored a goal in an eventual 5-3 Toronto win over Pittsburgh on April 18, 2006.

A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Williams welcomed guests from Marc Moro's Captain's Crew to the Marlies' dressing room following the December 2 home game against Syracuse. He was a guest speaker at the Marlies' Coaches Clinic on December 10 and also participated in the Marlies' anti-bullying assembly at Rosebank Public School three days later. Williams represented the Marlies at a corporate partners' Christmas party in early December at Air Canada Centre before attending a minor hockey event in Markham to close out the month.

The Marlies return to Toronto when they host the San Antonio Rampage for the only time this season on Thursday evening at Air Canada Centre. For ticket information, visit
