
Canucks acquire Genoway from Ducks in exchange for Rullier

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have acquired forward Colby Genoway from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenceman Joe Rullier.
Genoway, 23, has appeared in 41 games so far this season with the Portland Pirates where he has scored eight goals and 21 assists for 29 points and 36 penalty minutes. The Morden, MB native has now played in 122 career games in the AHL with Portland and the Hartford Wolfpack. In that time, he has scored 34 goals and 56 assists for 90 points and 114 penalty minutes. Genoway spent three seasons with the University of North Dakota where he helped the Fighting Sioux advance to the NCAA Frozen Four Final in 2005 and was the team's leading scorer that season. In three years at UND, Genoway appeared in 113 games, scoring 25 goals and 56 assists for 81 points and 84 penalty minutes.
Rullier, 26, has played in 24 games this year for the Moose, collecting two goals and six assists for eight points and 62 penalty minutes. The Montreal, PQ. Rullier, 26, appeared in 67 games last season with both the Manchester Monarchs and Hartford Wolf Pack. In 51 games with the Wolf Pack, the Montreal, PQ native scored six goals and 22 assists for 28 points and 123 penalty minutes. After being loaned to the Monarchs by the New York Rangers on March 13/06, Rullier collected two goals and an assist for three points and 37 penalty minutes. In seven playoff games with Manchester, Rullier collected three assists and racked up 14 penalty minutes. Rullier has appeared in 422 games in the American Hockey League in his career with Manchester, Hartford, Lowell, and Manitoba . He has 22 goals and 61 assists for 83 points and 1191 penalty minutes. Rullier was originally a fifth round draft choice of Los Angeles Kings in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
