Manitoba Moose Post-Game Report - Manitoba vs. Charlotte - February 28

Goals:

* While on the powerplay, Ryan Murphy passes cross-crease to Derek Ryan and the puck goes off his skate and in past Moose goaltender Connor Hellebuyck at 7:29 of the third period. * Minutes later on a powerplay of their own Austen Brassard finds JC Lipon in front who re-directs the puck past Checkers goaltender Daniel Altshuller at 9:53 of the third period. * During a scramble in front Derek Ryan scores his second of the game on a backhand past a sprawling Hellebuyck at 14:06 on the third period while on the powerplay.

Highlights/Notes:

* This was the third time during the season series between the Moose and Checkers that the game was decided by one goal. Charlotte has won all three of those games.

* This was just the second time all season the Moose and their opponent had the same number of shots on goal in the game.

* JC Lipon scored a goal for the second consecutive game. He has now scored five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 12 games during February. Lipon has five goals in five games against Charlotte this year.

* Austen Brassard recorded an assist to record at least one point in back-to-back games. He has two goals and two assists for four points in those two games. Brassard has scored four goals and three assists for seven points in six games against Charlotte this year.

* Josh Morrissey recorded an assist for the second consecutive game. He has four points (0G, 4A) in his last five games.

* With two goals in the game, Charlotte's Derek Ryan has scored five goals in six games against the Moose this season.

* Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves in the loss. He has a 2.03 goals against average and a .938 save percentage in six games since returning to the Moose lineup on Feb. 12.

* Manitoba now has a record of 2-3-1-0 against Charlotte this year in the season series. The two teams will play each other twice more this season, both in Winnipeg.

The Moose head back out on a two-game road trip that starts with a game on Friday, Mar. 4 against the San Antonio Rampage.
