Goals:

- Scott Kosmachuk makes a cross-slot pass to Thomas Raffl who shoots the one-timer past Charlotte goaltender Drew MacIntyre at 1:46 of the first period.

- John Albert finds and sets up Patrice Cormier in the slot who dekes around MacIntyre and scores backhand at 4:01 of the first period.

- While on the powerplay Sergey Tolchinsky finds Derek Ryan in the slot and he takes a quick shot that beats Eric Comrie at 7:46 of the first period.

- Axel Blomqvist wraps around the Charlotte net and finds Austen Brassard out front who beats MacIntyre with a quick wrist shot at 14:36 of the second period.

- Ryan Olsen drives the Charlotte net and puts the puck around MacIntyre and into the net at 15:46 of the second period. The goal pulls Drew MacIntyre in favour of Daniel Altshuller in the Charlotte net.

- JC Lipon taps his stick in the slot and gets a pass from Austen Brassard. Lipon fires the one-timer past Altshuller for a powerplay goal at 4:42 of the third period.

- Austen Brassard drives the left side and fires a wrist shot that beats Altshuller at 5:45 of the third period.

- John Albert fires a wrist shot on the short side that beats Altshuller at 7:40 of the third period.

- Brendan Woods fires a wrist shot past the glove of Comrie at 13:43 of the third period.

Highlights/Notes:

- This was the first time the Moose hosted the Charlotte Checkers at the MTS Centre in franchise history.

- Seven goals was a season high for the Moose this season. The previous high was six goals which they have done twice. All three of those season highs have come this month (Feb. 6, 10, 27).

- Five goals is the largest margin of victory for the Moose this season.

- The Moose have now won five of their last eight games. They also have earned at least one point in seven of their last nine contests.

- Austen Brassard had the first multi-goal game of his career. His three points (2G, 1A) were a career high for a single game. His shooting percentage on the year is now at 23.5%. Brassard now has four goals and two assists for six points in five games against the Checkers this season.

- Thomas Raffl scored for the second consecutive game. He now has three goals in his last five games.

- JC Lipon scored his 12th goal of the season, which puts him in a three-way tie for second on the Moose in goals. Lipon (12-17-29) is also now tied with Nic Petan (8-21-29) for second on the Moose in points at 29, just two back of team leader Chase De Leo (15-16-31).

- Defenceman Jake Baker made his AHL debut after signing a professional tryout agreement with the Moose earlier in the day. He recorded his first career point, an assist and was a +2 in the game.

- Forward Axel Blomqvist recorded his first career AHL point with an assist. He was recalled by the Moose from Tulsa (ECHL) on Friday.

- Defenceman Aaron Harstad picked up his first career AHL point with an assist. He was also a career high +3 in the contest, which was the highest on the team on Saturday.

- Forwards Ryan Olsen (1G, 1A), Patrice Cormier (1G, 1A) and John Albert (1G, 1A) also recorded multi-point games.

- Goaltender Eric Comrie made 31 saves and picked up his 10th win at the MTS Centre this season. He reclaimed the top spot as the AHL's saves leader with 1,123 this season.

- Manitoba's penalty killing continued to be strong going 4-for-5 on Saturday. In their last nine games the Moose penalty kill has gone 35-for-37, good for 94.6%.

- For the sixth time in their last eight games the Moose scored a powerplay goal. Over that time they have scored on 36.4% of their powerplays.

- The Moose improve their record to .500 at home to with an 11-11-2-3 record at the MTS Centre this season.

- Manitoba now has a record of 2-2-1-0 against Charlotte this year in the season series. The two teams will play each other three more times this season, all in Winnipeg.

The Moose will play a rematch against the Charlotte Checkers on Sunday afternoon at the MTS Centre at 2 p.m.
