Organization Acquires Ryan Bourque

HERSHEY, Pa. - The Hershey Bears announced today that the organization has acquired forward Ryan Bourque from the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Chris Brown. The announcement was made by Bears President/General Manager Doug Yingst.

Bourque will be reunited with his brother Chris, the current AHL leading scorer, in Hershey after spending his entire professional career with the Rangers' AHL affiliate Connecticut Whale/Hartford Wolf Pack. In 324 games in Hartford, Bourque has produced 122 points (57 goals, 65 assists). He earned his first NHL game with the Rangers during the 2014-15 season.

The 5'9, 178-pound native of Boxford, Massachusetts played two seasons of junior hockey with the QMJHL's Quebec Remparts from 2009-2011. There, he recorded 102 points (45 goals, 57 assists) in 93 games. Bourque is also a product of the United States National Team Development Program, where he played from 2007-2009.

He was originally selected by the Rangers in the third round (80th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Brown departs with 42 points (22 goals, 20 assists) in 96 games with the Bears, and a total of 124 points (65 goals, 59 assists) in 215 AHL games.
