Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. â The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced that defenseman Vince Macri has been recalled to Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. He is the fourth player from Atlantic City to receive a promotion to the AHL this season.
Macri, 23, is tied with Brian Fahey for the scoring lead among Bullies defensemen with four goals and 11 points through 23 games. The Durham, NH native notched the game-tying goal in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Johnstown Chiefs. Macri was assigned by Bridgeport on October 13.
Macri signed with the New York Islanders on August 30 and participated at training camp with the Sound Tigers after completing a four-year collegiate career at Brown University last season. Macri posted career-highs in 2003-04 with 6 goals and 15 points to co-lead all Bears defensemen in scoring. His 15 points also ranked 14th among all ECAC defensemen. After completing his collegiate career in March, Macri played three games for Bridgeport at the end of the 2004 season and notched 1 assist.
