Trenton Devils News Release
DAYTON, OH (December 14, 2004) - Mathieu Brunelle's hat trick led the way as the Trenton Titans squeezed out a 4-3 win over the Dayton Bombers in front of 1,466 at the Nutter Center
Out-shooting the Bombers 15-7 in the first period, the Titans were able to skate into the locker room with a 1-0 lead on Brunelle's sixth goal of the season.
In the second period, it was more Brunelle when he batted Stephen Wood's rebound past Andrew Penner for a power play goal to give the Titans a two-goal cushion.Â
After Matt Zultek and Tyler Kolarik traded goals to make the score 3-1, Brunelle completed the hat trick at 13:29 of the middle period to put the Titans up by three.
The Bombers would go away easily, however, as Matt Herneisen and Tyler Sloan each scored :57 apart in the final frame to cut Trenton's lead to just one goal. Â
Andrew Allen and the Titans would shut the door from there to escape with the 4-3 victory. Allen made 37 saves on the evening to raise his record to 8-2-1 and his road to record to 6-1-0.
The Titans finish their two-game against the Bombers on Thursday, December 16 at 7:30pm. Tune into Moneytalk 1350AM or go to www.trentontitans.com to listen live.
