
Bombers open three game homestand with a loss to Titans, 4-3

Dayton, OHIO â The Dayton Bombers dropped a 4-3 decision to the Trenton Titans in front of 1,466 at the Nutter Center Tuesday night.
Mathieu Brunelle beat Bombers goaltender ANDREW PENNER at 12:34 to give the Titans a 1-0 lead. Brunelle scored his second of three goals on the night at the 6:00 minute mark of period two, and Trenton led 2-0. Matt Zultek made it 3-0 with his 4th goal of the season at 7:17, before TYLER KOLARIK put the Bombers on the board at 9:36 of the second period.
Brunelle completed the hat trick with his third goal of the night and his 8th of the season at 13:29 of the third period, and the Titans had control of the game, 4-1. MATT HERNEISEN (11:29) and TYLER SLOAN (12:26) scored goals :57 seconds apart to pull the Bombers within one, 4-3. But the Titans held on for the 4-3 victory.
Kolarik now has points in 10 of his last 11 games (8-6-14 pts.), while Herneisen and Kinnunen both extended their point-scoring streaks to six games. The Titans improved to 8-1-2 on the road, and battle the Bombers on again on Thursday night. Dayton hosts Trenton Thursday night at Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio.
