
Pride's Boucher Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Nick Boucher of Pee Dee is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for December 6-12. Boucher won the award for November 22-28 and becomes the second two-time winner this season, joining Dany Sabourin of Wheeling, who won October 25-31 and November 1-7.
The 23-year-old Boucher stopped 34 shots in a 3-0 win at Augusta on Friday for his second consecutive road shutout. He made 25 saves in a 4-0 win against Louisiana on Saturday to become the fifth goaltender this season to post back-to-back shutouts.
With Sebastien LaPlante on injured reserve since November 21, Boucher, who has not allowed a goal in the last 147:20, has started 10 consecutive games for the Pride, going 7-2-1 with three shutouts, a goals-against average of 1.82 and a save percentage of .940. In 18 games, Boucher is 9-4-2 with a save percentage of .932 while ranking seventh in the league with a goals-against average of 2.03. Boucher is tied for second in shutouts (3), ranks third in minutes (944), ranks fourth in saves (436) and is tied for fourth in wins (9).
Selected in the ninth round (280th overall) by Pittsburgh in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Boucher played his rookie season in 2003-04 with Wheeling of the ECHL and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. He was 20-6-1 with four shutouts, and ranked 13th in the league with a goals-against average of 2.48 in 29 regular season games with Wheeling and 1-1-0 with a goals-against average of 2.02 and a save percentage of .918 in two games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
