Hennes to Bakersfield for Slonina, Parillo recalled to Grand Rapids

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have traded center Ty Hennes to Bakersfield in exchange for the rights to forward Steve Slonina. Also, the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League recalled forward Nick Parillo today.

Head Coach and Director of Player Personal Nick Vitucci discussed the move, "Steve is a guy that we are looking to add some offensive punch to our lineup. He is a hard worker that will fit in well here."

Slonina, a native of Abington, Massachusetts, played last season with the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL. In sixty-nine games with the Gladiators, the forward collected twenty goals, and added seventeen assists. Steve collected 4 points (1-3) in Gwinnett's 13 playoff games. Slonina played in 136 games during his four-year college career with the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Steve finished his college career with 23 goals, and 36 assists. Slonina finished his senior season second in scoring with 9 goals and 19 assists. Ty Hennes heads to Bakersfield after scoring three goals, and adding five assists in twenty games with the Storm. Hennes also collected fourteen penalty minutes, while playing as a plus one during his time in Toledo.

Nick Parillo, heads to Grand Rapids for the second time this season. Nick was recalled to the Griffins on December 4, 2004 and played in Grand Rapids 2-1 win over Utah that night. Parillo had four shots in that contest. The Griffins play in Utah Wednesday night and again on Friday night, before retuning to Grand Rapids Saturday night to host the Cleveland Barons.

Toledo plays in Peoria Friday night, before hosting the Reading Royals Saturday and Sunday. Toledo Hockey...A History of Champions!
