December 14, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
FLORENCE, SC â The ECHL announced today that Pee Dee Pride goaltender Nick Boucher is the Reebok Hockey/ECHL Saver of the Week for December 6-12. This is the second time in the last three weeks that Boucher has received the weekly honor, and he joins Wheeling's Dany Sabourin as two-time recipients this season.
Boucher earned shutouts in both Pride games last weekend. On Friday, he turned aside all 34 Augusta shots for his second consecutive road shutout in Pee Dee's 3-0 victory, and on Saturday he stopped 25 Louisiana shots in the Pride's 4-0 win.
Entering this week, Boucher has a road shutout streak of 161:39 and an overall shutout streak of 147:20. In 18 games this season, the 23-year-old Boucher is 9-4-2 with a save percentage of .932 while ranking seventh in the league with a goals-against average of 2.03. Boucher is tied for second in shutouts (3), ranks third in minutes (944), ranks fourth in saves (436) and is tied for fourth in wins (9).
The Pride are back in action Friday, hosting the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:30 p.m. Prior to the game the Pride will hold a food drive to benefit the Manna House. All fans are encouraged to bring a canned-food item with them to the game to help out the less fortunate this holiday season.
Tickets for all Pride home games are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
