LumberKings hold on for win
September 2, 2004 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Clinton LumberKings News Release
Clinton (Low A -- Midwest League) @ Clinton 8, Quad Cities 6
The LumberKings gained a game on rival Quad Cities as both teams fight for a MWL playoff spot in spite of Thomas Diamond's worst performance of the year.
Diamond (2.05) allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits and a pair of walks, fanning six over four innings and Craig Frydendall (5-2; 4.92) earned the win, going three and a third, allowing two runs on two hits and a pair of walks.
The Clinton lineup was led, once again, by the insanely hot Larry Grayson (.259 / .318 / .441) who is hitting .348 / .396 / .546 since August 1. Grayson doubled twice in four trips to drive in two runs. Justin Hatcher (.293 / .398 / .414) plated two runs while going 1-3 with a walk and Kevin Richardson singled twice in four trips to drive in two more.
