Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa â Christmas in July is but a recent memory, and the real thing doesn't happen for four more months. But if you're smitten by the Christmas spirit and love to watch the Kernels play baseball, we have an offer for you.
The Kernels, in cooperation with the Homeless Children's Trust, are collecting Christmas presents during the final regular-season homestand this weekend.
Fans bringing an unwrapped present for a child will receive a coupon good for a $1 discount on up to four Plaza or Club tickets.
Presents will be collected and coupons distributed at a table near the main entrance off the upper level parking lot. Presents also can be dropped off at the Veterans Memorial Stadium ticket office from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The Kernels host the West Michigan Whitecaps in a four-game series to end the regular season, from Friday through Monday. Game times are 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.
