You've heard of fastballs and curveballs, but here's our favorite goofball. Myron Noodleman, the Jerry Lewis of baseball, returns to Veterans Memorial Stadium after a one-year absence to entertain kids of all ages.
Hall of Fame Day Honoring baseball's past
The Cedar Rapids Baseball Club's Class of 2004 is honored before the game. That class includes past club president Wally Krouse, former board member and Gazette sports editor Gus Schrader, former Reds pitcher Rob Dibble and ex-Raiders outfielder Hank Edwards. Dibble will not be making a personal appearance.
Iowa Office Supply Kernels Pennant Day 1,000 pennants

Kids run the bases immediately following the game, and then everyone is invited down to the field to play catch on the Veterans Memorial Stadium turf. Bring your gloves and create a memory that will last a lifetime.

Fan Appreciation Day Play catch with a Kernel
Concessions and souvenir specials will be highlighted during the game. Following the game, fans are invited down on the field for a 30-minute session with Kernels players. The Kernels will sign autographs, pose for pictures and play catch with fans. It's just one way the Kernels say thanks to the best fans in the Midwest League for a successful 2004 season.
Kernels BP Top Auction Buy your favorite Kernels' top
The Kernels will auction off their red batting practice tops via a silent auction during the game. The tops will be autographed and distributed following the end of the season â a Kernels championship, perhaps?
Alliant Energy Hand Fan Days 2,000 hand fans

Quiznos Kids Club Night Pre-game Parade
Members of the Quiznos Kernels Kids Club receive reduced price admission, and a free item for the Bimm Ridder Diamond Shop.
- Kernels playoff and regular season tickets are available at the Kernels Field Ticket Office at Veterans Memorial Stadium, or by calling 896-7560 or 1-800-860-3609, or on the Internet at www.kernels.com. The ticket office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 10 to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The Kernels host the first of a possible six home playoff games on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m.
- All Kernels games can be heard on radio on the Kernels flagship station, The Zone ESPN Radio 1600-AM, with John Rodgers. Games also can be heard on the Internet via www.kernels.com or www.thezone1600.com.
- The Taco Bell 10 Spot happens anytime the Kernels score 10 or more runs in a game, home or away. The next day people all over Cedar Rapids can buy tacos for 39 cents (maximum of 10 tacos) at all Taco Bells by mentioning the "Taco Bell 10 Spot'' or the "Kernels Special." That's a savings of 50 cents per taco.
