Dayton, OH – The University Of Massachusetts Department of Sports Management, within the Isenberg School of Management along with Street & Smith's Sports Business Daily named the Dayton Dragons one of two winners of the 2004 PRISM Awards.

The Dragons, winners of the "Minor" league level award, are the first organization since the inception of the awards in 2000 to become a multiple winner. The Minnesota Wild of the NHL was named as the award winners at the "Major" league level.

The PRISM Awards (Professionalism, Results, and Innovation in Sports Management) sponsored by The Sports Business Daily, are presented annually to franchises at both the major and minor league levels that demonstrate excellence in five categories of sports franchise management: strategic mission, innovative marketing, community relations, customer service and employee relations.

"Both the Wild and the Dragons distinguished themselves in each of the categories that define the PRISM ideals," said PRISM Director Steve McKelvey, an assistant professor at the University Of Massachusetts. "Both are a testament to the level of management expertise and professionalism that every sports franchise should aspire to."

"Becoming a two-time winner of this prestigious award is a real testimonial to the great fans and supporters of Dayton Dragons Baseball," noted Dragons president Robert Murphy. "The Dayton region is the best in the country and everyone should be very proud."

Past PRISM Award winners at the major league category include: the Houston Texans of the NFL (2002-2003), the Washington Capitals of the NHL (2001) and the Orlando Magic of the NBA (2000). Past winners in the minor league category include: the Dayton Dragons (2002-2003), the Sacramento River Cats (2001) and the Chicago Wolves (2000).
