Louisville Bats News Release

Louisville, KY - The Bats had eight starters hit safely, including a three-RBI day from Chuckie Robinson, as the club defeated Indianapolis 7-4.

Louisville recorded it's first two-triple game of the season, including Reds No. 2 prospect Noelvi Marte securing his Triple A first.

Indianapolis struck first, thanks to a lead-off double and then brought home on the following at-bat with a single.

The Bats jumped on the scoreboard in the second inning, totaling three runs. Marte led off the home half with a triple, the first of his Triple A career. A walk to Alejo Lopez put runners on the corners. Chuckie Robinson brought the two home on a shot to right field, finishing the play with a triple.

Lopez got back on base in the fourth inning with a single and a wild pitch advanced the infielder to second. Jose Barrero scored Lopez with a double to kick the Bats lead to 4-1.

Indy struck back in the following two innings, scoring one in the fifth and pair in the sixth to knot the game at 4-4.

Michael Mariot went 5.1 inning, allowing nine hits with four runs while walking one and fanning three.

In the bottom of the sixth, singles from Marte and Lopez followed by a Barrero hit by pitch loaded the bases. Robinson registered his third RBI on a single to left field that scored Marte from third. Nick Martini's sac fly scored another run, but Indianapolis thwarted Louisville's no-out bases loaded scoring threat by limiting the Bats to two runs.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand tallied another run for Louisville on a solo home run to left-center, snapping a 15-game homer-less streak, to give the Bats a 7-4 lead heading to the eighth inning.

Alan Busenitz kept the Indians off the scoreboard over the final two innings, allowing one hit while walking one and striking out one for his sixth save of the season. Busenitz replaced Silvino Bracho, who went 1.2 innings and only gave up one hit with four strikeouts.

The series finale is slotted for Monday, the lone Monday game on Louisville's schedule this season, with first pitch set at 7:05 p.m. ET. Brett Kennedy (2-2, 3.71) is scheduled to throw for the Bats while Indianapolis is expected to hand the ball to lefty Kent Emanuel (5-3, 6.34).
