Down to their final 16 games (eight at home), the IronPigs (57-71) play Game 1 of a three-game series against the third-place Buffalo Bisons (65-64) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 4-2 victory in 10 innings over the Paw Sox yesterday, the Pigs won back-to-back contests to take the three-game set in Pawtucket, 2-1. The Pigs also had a winning road trip at 3-2, rebounding from a losing six of seven games from Aug. 11-16 and 11 of 13 against the North Division from July 26 to Aug. 16. Since reaching their low-water mark on June 13 (22-42), the Pigs have posted a 35-29 record... The Bisons -- Buffalo's top affiliate -- lost 3-0 yesterday to drop a three-game, home series against Syracuse. The Bisons, who are just 9-12 in August, have dropped back-to-back contests and five of their last six affairs. Yet, the Bisons remain 28-22 since falling to their low-water mark on July 1 (37-42)... These teams haven't met since the Pigs took two-of-three in Buffalo from June 23-25.

RHP David Buchanan (3-1, 3.44) will start for LHV against LHP Jeff Francis (5-2, 2.14).
