
Bats Drop Game One in Extras, 3-2

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Louisville Bats (60-70) dropped game one to the Indianapolis Indians (77-53) after thirteen innings Monday night, 3-2.
Shortstop Gustavo Nunez put the Indians on the board in the bottom of the second with a RBI single to right scoring Tony Sanchez taking a 1-0 lead.
The Bats tied things up in the fourth after catcher Ramon Cabrera doubled sending Juan Perez across the plate, 1-1.
The Indians added in another run from a RBI double by Keon Braxton stealing the lead in the bottom of the sixth, 2-1.
The Bats tied the ball game up again in the eighth with a RBI single by right fielder Kyle Waldrop brought home Juan Perez.
A walk off single in the thirteenth inning by Broxton sent home Alen Hanson to grab the win over Louisville, 3-2.
Righty Josh Smith started on the mound for Louisville and left in eighth. Smith allowed three hits, two earned runs, three walks and struck out nine. Carlos Contreras (L, 1-2, 3.28) took the loss for the Bats throwing 1.1 innings.
Starting on the bump for the Indians was righty Wilfredo Boscan. He went six 5.2 innings, allowed six hits, one earned run and six strike outs. Wilson Castillo (W, 2-0, 0.00) grabbed the win for the Indians.
The Bats face Indianapolis again tomorrow at Victory Field at 7:05 p.m. Projected to take the mound is lefty Brandon Finnegan (0-2, 6.00) for Louisville and to be announced for the Indians.
