Syracuse Mets News Release

The Syracuse Chiefs are pleased to partner with Gildan for "Girls on the Run Night" this Tuesday, August 25th, when the Chiefs play the Rochester Red Wings at 7:05. Gildan, a proud supporter of the Syracuse Chiefs and Triple-A Baseball, is aligned with Girls on the Run, "a transformational physical-activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade that teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games."

As part of this partnership, Girls on the Run will have a table on the concourse while distributing information, engaging fans and spreading the message of Girls on the Run. The organization inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. The program culminates with a celebratory 5K run after the girls are physically and emotionally prepared to run. Girls on the Run aims to "unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness".

"We are proud to have the Syracuse Chiefs partner with Girls on the Run", said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol. "By combining confidence in physical and mental health, Girls on the Run delivers an important message to young women in our community. We want to help them enjoy a great night and get their word out to the people of Central New York."

Girls on the Run proudly serves five counties in Central New York. More information can be found at www.girlsontheruncny.org.

Tickets for Tuesday night's "Girls on the Run Night" and all nine remaining Chiefs home games are available and can be purchased online atsyracusechiefs.com, by calling 315-474-7833 or by visiting the NBT Bank Stadium ticket office during regular business hours.
