
Komets' Eastern Swing Nets Six Points

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets registered 3 wins on a 4-game eastern trip for the week, improving to 8-12-2 (from .333 win percentage to .409) after 22 games and week 8 of the UHL 2005-06 campaign.
The Komets mounted a 3-game win streak before dropping a 2-1 affair at Danbury Sunday night. The week started with a 5-2 win at Elmira Wednesday. Friday the Komets posted a 4-1 victory at Roanoke before traveling to Richmond Saturday and stopping the RiverDogs 3-1.
Player moves for the week included the addition of former Komet Kelly Miller (C) to the lineup Wednesday. The Komets also added Matt Hunter (LW) to the roster prior to Wednesday's game at Elmira. Center Andrew Luciuk joined the team in time for his first Komet game Friday at Roanoke. Also, the Komets placed Todd Nowicki (RW) on waivers Friday. Miller posted a goal and an assist in his first 4 games back as a Komet while Hunter netted 2 goals and added 2 assists in 4 games played. Luciuk recorded one assist during his 3-game weekend Komet debut.
This week the Komets are home for one game Friday, Dec. 16 against the Adirondack Frostbite at 8pm. Saturday the Komets travel to Missouri to face the River Otters in an 8pm start (Fort Wayne time). The following week the Komets have 2 home games leading up to the Christmas holiday. Wednesday, Dec. 21 the Komets host the Rockford IceHogs at 7:30pm and Friday, Dec. 23 the River Otters visit for an 8pm faceoff at the coliseum.

4,000th Fort Wayne Komet game.....Sunday's (12/11/05) game at Danbury marked the 4,000th regular season game for the Fort Wayne Komets franchise. The franchise is in it's 54th season of pro hockey in Fort Wayne since it's start in 1952. The Komets played 3,524 IHL regular season games before joining the UHL in 1999. Sunday's game was the 476th (275-151-50) UHL regular season game for the Komets.
Komets hit 600th UHL point.....with Saturday's (12/10/05) 3-1 win at Richmond, the Komets reached their 600th standings point after 475 UHL games (275-150-50).
Komets first ever UHL road penalty shot.....the Komets were awarded their first ever penalty shot on the road since joining the UHL in 1999 Wednesday, 12/7/05 at Elmira. Referee Chris Ciamaga signaled a penalty shot for Komet Matt Hunter (LW) at the 18:34 mark of the 2nd period. Hunter scored on goalie Ryan McIntosh to give the Komets a 5-1 lead. The last time a Komet franchise player had a road penalty shot was Jan. 25, 1998 when Ian Boyce scored on goaltender Marc Lamothe at Indianapolis in the 3rd period of a 4-2 IHL win at the Indianapolis Pepsi Fairgrounds.
Streaking Komets.....goalie Kevin St. Pierre is riding a 3-game winning streak.....David Carpentier (RW) has a goal in each of the last 3 games (3g, 1a, 4pts).....P.C. Drouin has a 3-game point streak (2g, 2a, 4pts).
Player milestones.....Greg Puhalski coached his 400th regular season Fort Wayne game Friday 12/9/05 (3-1 win).....Jonathan Goodwin (RW) skated his 100th career game Friday 12/9/05 at Roanoke.
Chaulk's 500th game next......Colin Chaulk (C) has appeared in 499 career games since starting his pro hockey career in 1998-99 and has registered 294 Fort Wayne career points.

Komet season ticket holders can exchange unused tickets from previously scheduled Komet home games this season for tickets to the Dec. 27 Komet home game.
