Mallards Add Tom Clayton from Elmira

Moline, IL-Quad City Mallards Head Coach and General Manager Brian Curran announced today that the team has acquired forward Tom Clayton from the Elmira Jackals in exchange for future and cash considerations. Clayton joins the Mallards with 217 games of pro experience, all with the Jackals.

Clayton played 14 games in Elmira this season. He scored two goals with an assist for three points with 61 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10, 180 pound forward has 24 goals and 21 assists for 45 points and 405 penalty minutes in his pro career.

Prior to turning pro in 2001-02, Clayton played three seasons at Niagara University. The Binghamton, New York native played 79 collegiate games recording 15 goals with 22 assists for 37 points and 65 penalty minutes.

"Tom is a gritty player," said Curran. "He impressed us while we were in Elmira with his ability to agitate."

The Mallards are back at the Blackbear Lounge at The Lodge for Duck Talk tonight at 7:00 p.m. Mallards Coach Brian Curran will join host Aaron Roof along with Mallards Glenn Detulleo, Tom Galvin and Jesse Rycroft. The show can be heard on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230.

The Mallards are back on the ice on Friday in Kalamazoo. Game time is 6:30 p.m. central time. The Mallards Pre-Game Show starts at 6:05 p.m. During the intermissions, stay tuned for the Swiss Valley Farms Intermission Report. After the game, the Allstate Insurance Christy Cox Post-Game Show will air.
