
Muskegon's Bouchard and Danbury's Daigle earn weekly honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Muskegon Fury right wing Robin Bouchard has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Danbury Trashers goaltender Sylvain Daigle has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, December 11, 2005.
Bouchard completed the week with eight points (4g, 4a) and a plus-1 rating in four games played. He tallied three points (1g, 2a) and scored in the shootout in Wednesday's 7-6 shootout loss to Port Huron. On Friday, he had one goal and one assist in the 7-2 loss to Motor City. In Saturday's 4-1 victory vs. Rockford, he scored the first goal of the game. He then added one goal and one assist in Sunday's 5-3 victory vs. Port Huron. The 32-year-old native of Jonquiere, Quebec leads the UHL in scoring with 46 points (24g, 22a) and has scored at least one point in every game this season (22 games).
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Adirondack left wing Hugo Belanger, Danbury forward Jeff Daw, Elmira right wing Jason Sessa, Fort Wayne right wing David Carpentier, Kalamazoo center Kory Karlander, Missouri left wing Jim Duhart, Motor City center Adam Edinger, Quad City forward Evgeny Lazarev, Richmond defenseman Dan Vandermeer, Roanoke right wing Louis-Philippe Martin, and Rockford center Steve Yetman.
Daigle finished the week with a 3-0-0 record, a 0.86 goals against average (GAA), a .975 save percentage (SPCT), and one shutout. He played the third period of Wednesday's game vs. Roanoke and stopped all eight shots he faced as the Trashers rallied for a 5-4 victory. On Friday, he stopped all 35 Adirondack shots in the 3-0 win. It was his first shutout of the season. He made 35 saves in regulation on Saturday and stopped five of six in the shootout as Danbury earned a 3-2 shootout win vs. Adirondack. The win also moved Daigle ahead of Joe Dimaline for first place on the UHL all-time career wins list for goaltenders. The 29-year-old native of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec currently has 166 career UHL wins.
