
Hogs split another two-game week

Generous IceHogs fans donated 1,317 Teddy Bears on Saturday night, highlighting another week in which Rockford split a pair of games at the Rockford MetroCentre. The Teddy Bear donation is the highest in club-history. Week 9 features another visit from the Western Division rival Missouri River Otters, this time with Jim Duhart in the lineup, and the first visit from the Richmond RiverDogs.

Transactions
-Winger Chaz Johnson was returned to Rockford from Milwaukee on Sunday, Dec. 11.
-Winger Greg Barber was loaned to the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) on Sunday, Dec. 11.
-Winger Chaz Johnson was loaned to the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday, Dec. 10.
-Winger Paul Falco was signed and added to the roster on Friday, Dec. 9.
-Goaltender Andrew Joy was signed and added as the Emergency Backup on Friday, Dec. 9.
-Goaltender Michel Robinson was loaned to Milwaukee on Friday, Dec. 9.
-Center Preston Mizzi was returned to Rockford from Milwaukee on Thursday, Dec. 8.
-Center Billy Tibbetts was loaned to the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
-Defenseman Matt Gens was returned to Rockford from Milwaukee on Monday, Dec. 5.
Bacon Bits:
Goalie Ronnie Vogel set an IceHogs record with a 12-game unbeaten streak (11-0-1).
With the call-up of Greg Barber to the San Antonio Rampage, Rockford has now loaned eight players to the American Hockey League, the most in the UHL.
Rockford has held the opposition to 0-for-18 on the power play during the past three games, including Muskegon to 0-for-8 who came into the contest with a 35.2% power play on the road.
The IceHogs lead the UHL with a 89.7% penalty kill rate at home.
Winger Jason Notermann had his five-game point streak snapped on Sunday.
Defenseman Corey Hessler leads the Hogs in shots on goal with 70 for the season.
The IceHogs are second in the UHL in average attendance (3,677), their highest ranking at this point in club-history.
Rockford has the most home wins in the UHL (11).
The IceHogs had an all-time high participation level for the annual Teddy Bear Toss, as generous fans donated 1,317 stuffed animals on Saturday night.
Hot Hog Week 8:
IceHogs rookie center Steve Yetman got back on track offensively during Week 8, netting a goal and an assist during the Hogs two-game weekend. Overall, Yetman has netted 6g-10a-16pts and a plus/minus rating of +5.
Upcoming Games:
Friday, December 16 vs Missouri River Otters. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Hogs open another two game weekend with the return of the Missouri River Otters and Jim Duhart to the MetroCentre. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive IceHogs Poster #3 in a series of 7 from Medicine Man, Johnson Press, Pepsi and the Rockford Register Star.
Saturday, December 17 vs Richmond RiverDogs. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs and RiverDogs meet for the second time ever on Saturday. The first 1,000 fans to pass through the turnstiles will receive an IceHogs Knit Hat from Lonnies Carpet Max and WTVO-TV Channel 17.
HogTalk Returns Tonight At Shooter's North:
HogTalk returns tonight at Shooter's North located at 7742 Forest Hills Road in Loves Park from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The show is hosted by WXRX's Jim Stone and Double T and features IceHogs Head Coach Steve Martinson each Monday. Also this week, Michel Robinson and Steve Pelletier will be there to talk Hogs hockey and meet fans. And a reminder, HogTalk will not be held on Monday, Dec. 26, due to the Christmas Holiday.

Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all IceHogs Regular and Post Season games on Rockford's Voice, WNTA-AM 1330. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with the B2 Networks! Log on to the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the "click here to watch the game live" icon, and for just $6, you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. New to the network this season is ESPN Radio "The Jock" 1380 AM. The Jock will broadcast 20 Hogs games during the regular season. Check your local listings. Also, fans with Insight Cable television can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season. The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 20 minutes before the puck drops. Make sure to give your opinion during the 10th Inning Bar and Grill Post-Game Call-In Show following each home game at (815) 874-8255.

The Rockford IceHogs would like to extend an apology to all the Hogs fans who have tried to listen or view the broadcast on icehogs.com through the B2 Networks when the team is in Fort Wayne. The Komets have chosen not to adhere to league rules and do not have B2 Network access in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum at this time. IceHogs fans can catch all the Hogs games, home and away via broadcast and video through the B2 Network on icehogs.com all season, with the exception of the games played in Fort Wayne. The UHL is currently addressing the situation in Fort Wayne and we will let you know if anything changes. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have created.
