
Komets Draw Cincinnati for First Round Playoffs

Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets will open the Central division semifinal playoffs against the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday, April 14 on Coliseum Sweetwater Ice at 7:35pm.
It will be a best-of-seven series under a 2-3-2 format. Fort Wayne enters the series with home ice advantage. It will be the third time the Komets and Cyclones have met in an ECHL post-season. Cincinnati defeated the Komets 4 games to 2 in a second round series in 2014 before Fort Wayne eliminated the Cyclones 4 games to 3 in a first round series in 2016.
It's the fifth time Fort Wayne has qualified for the Kelly Cup playoffs in six seasons as a member of the ECHL. It's the 57th playoff appearance in the 66-year history of the Komets.

The Komets will conclude the 2017-18 regular season schedule this weekend. Last night the Komets stopped the Walleye in Toledo 5-2 and will finish the season with back-to-back home games beginning tonight at 7:30 against the Wheeling Nailers. Sunday the Komets cap the season with a frst round playoff preview when Cincinnati visits at 5pm.
Get your tickets early-- Tickets for this weekend's final two home regular season games and tickets for the first two Komet home playoff games are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office. Marvel Night Saturday-- Saturday is Marvel Avengers Night when the Komets host Wheeling. The Komets will wear special jerseys and all kids are invited to dress up in their favorite super heroes costume.

Komets Season Ending Awards to be presented Sunday-- The annual presentation of Komet team awards will be held immediately following Sunday's game against Cincinnati. The Komets will honor the Defenseman of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player, the True Komet award, Mr. Hustle award, Unsung Hero, Best Defensive Forward and Most Valuable Player of 2017-18 as voted by team personnel and local media with trophy presentations after the game.
Season Ticket Recycling Night Sunday-- Sunday is another Season Ticket Recycling game when the Komets host the Cyclones for the regular season finale. Komet Season Ticket Holders will be able to exchange any unused Komet tickets from previously scheduled home games this year for tickets to the game Sunday.
