Royals Donate Money to Humboldt Broncos Tragedy

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced Saturday proceeds from Saturday's home game vs. Norfolk will be donated to those affected by the Humboldt Broncos tragedy. Fans that purchase tickets from this link will help the Royals contribute funds. Reading will also observe a moment of silence prior to Saturday's 7:00 p.m. game.

"We are one hockey family and this tragedy affects all of us deeply," said Royals Chief Operating Officer Ray Melcher. "We send our deepest condolences to those affected."

Canadian authorities have reported at least 14 died from a crash between a tractor-trailer and the Humboldt Broncos team bus. The Broncos are members of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL).
