THE RACE FOR THE TOP SPOT

The Monarchs currently sit in second place in the North Division with 86 points heading into the final two games of the season. Manchester trails the Adirondack Thunder (87) by one point for first place and lead the Reading Royals (85) by one point for second place. Both Adirondack and Reading have one game remaining on the season. The Worcester Railers (80) are the only team in the North Division locked into their playoff spot, sitting fourth in the division.

OPPOSITE TRENDS

Worcester comes into the weekend on a five-game winning streak dating back to Mar. 28, the second longest active streak in the league. During that five-game stretch, Worcester has allowed only five goals against and their goaltender Mitch Gillam has stopped 149 of 154 shots, for a .968 save percentage. The Monarchs have dropped their last five contests, dating back to Mar. 24 and have allowed 23 goals over those five games.

SPECIAL TEAMS EDGE

The Monarchs have had the special teams advantage this season against the Railers, scoring on 25% of their power-play chances, going 13-for-52. Meanwhile, the Railers have struggled to score on the power play against the Monarchs, capitalizing on just 8.9% of their chances, going 5-for-56.
