
Swamp Rabbits Play Final Game on Road against Gladiators

RABBIT TALES
The Greenville Swamp Rabbits (23-40-7-1), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, end the 2017-18 campaign tonight on the road in Duluth, Georgia against the Atlanta Gladiators (32-34-2-3). The I-85 rivals meet at the Infinite Energy Arena at 7:05 p.m. to complete the regular season and play one another for the 11th time this season. Through ten meetings this season, Greenville has taken three victories against Atlanta.
FAST FIFTY
Caleb Herbert tied Evan Jasper last night, earning his 50th point (22G, 28A) of the season. The leading scorer has earned points in each of his last three games, netting three goals and adding an assist in the stretch. The fourth-year pro from Bloomington, Minnesota is one of 65 skaters to reach 50 points this season. With his assist last night, Herbert became the fastest player to reach the 50-point mark this year, achieving the total in just 37 games. Including his action in the AHL, Herbert has posted 57 points (24G, 33A) in 59 games.
MACK BACK ON THE BOARD
Forward Austin McKay notched his tenth goal of the season last night. The forward from Toronto, Ontario has earned 23 points in his second pro season ranking eighth on the club in scoring. In 115 games between the ECHL and the AHL, the 6-foot-5 skater has posted 60 points (25G, 35A).
ATLANTA ADDITIONS
Atlanta activated three key skaters to the lineup from injured reserve. Forward Brady Vail and defensemen Josh Atkinson, and Rick Pinkston all rejoined Gladiators the roster last night. Pinkston played his first game since Mar. 10, missing seven straight, while Atkinson has not played since Jan. 7. The blue liner notched a goal and added an assist against Orlando after missing 33 straight contest. Vail added an assist after 12 straight games away from the ice. The three skaters combined have accounted for 51 points (17G, 34A) in the Gladiators lineup this season.
REUNITED
The Swamp Rabbits face Atlanta for the first time since sending forward Branden Troock to the Gladiators at the trade deadline. Since joining Atlanta, the winger has posted 10 points (1G, 9A) in 10 games. The Edmonton, Alberta native had missed 20 games prior to being traded but produced 37 points (16G, 21A) in 35 games with Greenville before being shipping off to Georgia. Troock had scored six points (5G, 1A) in five games against Atlanta while in a Swamp Rabbits sweater.
CARROT BITES
Greenville has played the last three season finales against the Atlanta Gladiators and tonight will play the final game on the road for the third straight year.
Evan Jasper earned an assist for the Hartford Wolf Pack in his AHL debut last night.
Six skaters on the active rosters have played all 10 games in the season series between Greenville and Atlanta (Lindsay Sparks, Darby Llewellyn, Joe Basaraba, Chad Duchesne, Sean Flanagan, Matt Prapavessis).
Shane Walsh earned his 19th point (7G, 12A) in 32 games with Greenville, assisting on McKay's first period goal last night.
Lindsay Sparks has tallied 18 points (7G, 11A) in 10 games against Greenville.
