
Knights Fall to Stripers 20-4 on Thursday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped game three of the six-game series against the Gwinnett Stripers by a score of 20-4 on Thursday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The loss was Charlotte's third in the series against the Stripers.
Charlotte designated hitter Christian Hackenberg launched his first career Triple-A home run in the loss on Thursday. Hackenberg, who was promoted to Charlotte from Double-A Birmingham on July 28, went 1-for-4 with the home run. Charlotte right fielder Clint Frazier also homered on Thursday, his 10th of the season with the Knights and 11th overall in Triple-A this season. In all, the Knights tallied 10 hits in the game.
RHP Luis Patiño (3-5, 7.21) was saddled with the loss for the Knights in game three. He started the game and gave up three runs on three hits over 1.1 innings pitched.
The Stripers used five long balls in the game en route to the victory. Catcher Chadwick Tromp led the way with two home runs and six RBI for the Stripers. He also had a game-high four hits on the night.
The Knights, who fell to 6-30 in the second half of the season, will continue the six-game homestand against the Gwinnett Stripers (Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves) on Friday night.
