NORFOLK, VA - The Charlotte Knights took on the Norfolk Tides this afternoon in a midday affair at Harbor Park. The visiting Knights chalked up their 79th win of the season, 5-1, thanks to a brilliant pitching performance by Shane Murphy and a trio of relivers.

Murphy pitched five innings and held Norfolk's offense to a total of three hits. The left-hander departed with the contest tied 1-1 and settled for a no-decision. Murphy, who has been fantastic over the past month, is 3-0 with a 1.15 ERA in his last five starts.

The bullpen combination of Tyler Davis, Shane Smith, and Peyton Pallette spun four shutout innings down the stretch and Charlotte's offense put the game away in the eighth inning.

The Knights' first run came on a Michael Turner RBI single in the fourth. The rest of the damage occurred in the penultimate frame with Korey Lee and Rikuu Nishida contributing RBI base hits. Tim Elko and Turner also added RBIs to the four-run stanza and the Knights cruised the rest of the way.

Junior Perez and Andy Weber each finished with a tally in the hit column while Mario Camilletti reached base twice via walk. Camilletti has drawn 68 free passes this season, the 12th most in the International League.

Charlotte currently holds the fifth best overall record out of 20 teams in the IL. The Knights will attempt to reach milestone win number 80 on Friday evening in their third-to-last game of the 2026 season.
