
Knights Drop Friday's Game to Stripers, 10-1

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights fell to the Gwinnett Stripers by a score of 10-1 on Friday night in game four of the six-game series from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The Knights have dropped all four games in the series so far to the Stripers.
Charlotte second baseman Lenyn Sosa drove home the team's lone run, an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning. Center fielder Clint Frazier led the way with two hits on the night. In all, the Knights tallied one run on seven hits in the game four loss to the Stripers.
RHP Jose Ureña (1-4, 6.46), who was signed by the Chicago White Sox and added to Charlotte's roster on Tuesday, made his Knights debut and started Friday's contest. Ureña was saddled with the loss after he allowed four runs on seven hits over four innings of work. The Knights used a total of six pitchers on Friday and combined to allow 10 runs on 11 hits. Charlotte pitching also combined to walk 11 batters in the game.
Vaughn Grissom and Luke Williams both homered to pace the Gwinnett offense. The Stripers have scored 30 runs over the last two games.
The Knights and Stripers (Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves) will continue the six-game homestand on Saturday night. The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad, long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco and Dick Cooke will have the call for all of the action. First pitch on Saturday night is set for 8:15 p.m. from Uptown Charlotte.
