Tied 1-1 with Norfolk (68-42, 20-17), Jacksonville (53-57, 21-15) took the lead in the bottom of the fifth frame. With one out, Garrett Hampson singled. Johnston (4) followed by ripping a two-run shot off Tides reliever DL Hall (1-2) to give the Jumbo Shrimp a 3-1 advantage.
Weathers (1-0) pitched 6.0 innings, allowing only one run on three hits. He struck out six. Jeff Lindgren came in relief throwing 2.0 hitless inning. Geoff Hartlieb earned his seventh save as the Jumbo Shrimp clinched their first series at home since April.

A throwing error on the play allowed Conine to score, leaving two runners in scoring position. Johnston then singled, plating Mangum and Hampson to give the Jumbo Shrimp a 6-1 lead.
The Tides got back a run in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Aaron Hicks, Heston Kjerstad and Joey Ortiz each singled to load the bases. Following a strike out, Cameron walked to force in a run.
Norfolk got on the board early. Daz Cameron (15) homered to give the Tides a one-run lead in the top of the second inning.
Jacksonville answered in the bottom of the third frame. Conine ripped a base knock with one down. Following a force out, Johnston singled, driving in Hampson to tie the game for the Jumbo Shrimp.
