
Kings Recall Hnilicka; Assign Chouinard And Grebeshkov

MANCHESTER, NH â The Los Angeles Kings, the NHL affiliate of the Manchester Monarchs, on Monday recalled (emergency recall) goaltender Milan Hnilicka from the Monarchs and assigned goaltender Mathieu Chouinard and defenseman Denis Grebeshkov to Manchester. Hnilicka, 30, has appeared in two games for the Kings this season, posting a record of 0-1-0, a goals-against-average of 3.75 and a save-percentage .881. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Litomerice, Czech Republic, has also appeared in 13 games for the Monarchs this season, posting a record of 6-6-0, a goals-against-average of 2.60 and a save-percentage .904. In 121 career NHL regular season games with the Kings, the Atlanta Thrashers and the New York Rangers, he has a record of 29-67-13with a goals-against-average of 3.31.
Chouinard, 23, appeared in one game for the Kings when he made his NHL debut on February 29 during the Kings-Mighty Ducks game, stopping two shots in relief. He has also appeared in 18 games for the Monarchs this season, posting an 8-5-0 record, four shutouts, a .917 save-percentage and a 2.19 goals-against-average. The 6-foot-1, 211-pound Chouinard is a native of Boisbriand, Quebec.
Grebeshkov, 20, has appeared in four games for the Kings this season, recording one point (an assist) and zero penalty minutes after making his Kings/NHL debut on February 28 during the Kings-Mighty Ducks game. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Yaroslavl, Russia, has also appeared in 25 games for the Monarchs this season, recording five points (1-4=5) and 20 penalty minutes.
The Kings (25-19-16-7; 73 points) return to the ice on Tuesday, March 9 versus the Phoenix Coyotes at Staples Center at 10:30 p.m. (EST) in the first game of a home-and-home series.
The Monarchs (30-21-6-5, 71 points), ranked second in the AHL's Atlantic Division, will celebrate their millionth fan when they host the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday, March 10. For more information, visit the Monarchs on-line at www.monarchshockey.com.
