The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled center Kamil Piros (KA-mihl PIH-roash) and traded him to the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenseman Kyle Rossiter (RAWS-ih-tuhr), who has been assigned to the Chicago Wolves.
The 6-foot-3-inch, 217-pound Rossiter, who appeared in four games with the Panthers this season, shared first among San Antonio Rampage defensemen with five goals and ranked fourth among team blueliners with 12 points in 51 games this season.

The 23-year-old defenseman has recorded nine penalty minutes in nine NHL games with the Panthers spanning the last three seasons (2001-2004), which includes his NHL debut on April 3, 2002, against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Rossiter, who played for Team Canada in the 2000 World Junior Championships, finished his junior career with 21 goals; 57 assists; 78 points; and 616 penalty minutes in 245 games with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League, which includes career-highs of 11 goals, 22 assists and 33 points in 1999-2000. Rossiter helped Spokane reach the 2000 WHL Finals with four assists and five points in 15 games.
Piros, who began the season with the Thrashers, has notched 10 goals, 20 assists and 30 points in 50 games with the Wolves this season.
