CHICAGO, IL - The Hamilton Bulldogs had their four-game unbeaten streak snapped on Sunday, as they dropped a 4-0 decision to the Chicago Wolves at the Allstate Arena on Sunday. The Bulldogs split their two-game weekend series with the Wolves by winning 5-3 on Saturday and losing 4-0 on Sunday.
Chicago had four different scorers connect for goals on Sunday. Scoring for the Wolves were Zdenek Blatny, Steve Maltais, Jim Campbell and Paul Flache. Former Bulldogs centre Brian Swanson picked up an assist on the game-winner.
In goal, Jean-Francois Damphousse played in the first 26:41 of the game for the Bulldogs, making 11 saves on 14 shots. Olivier Michaud was in net for the remainder of the contest and made 15 saves. The Wolves Kari Lehtonen picked up the shutout by stopping all 28 Hamilton shots.
The Bulldogs went scoreless on three power play opportunities. Chicago scored once on seven chances on the power play.
Sunday's 4-0 loss marked the Bulldogs largest defeat of the season. Also on Sunday the Bulldogs were shut out for the first time since being blanked 1-0 by Philadelphia on December 23rd at Copps Coliseum.
The Bulldogs continue to lead the North Division with79 points on a record of 33 wins, 19 losses, 9 ties and 4 overtime losses.
The Hamilton Bulldogs will play their final game of their current four-game road trip on Tuesday, March 9th when they travel to Milwaukee to face the Admirals.
