
Jose Berrios Named MWL Pitcher of the Week

Cedar Rapids, IA - Jose Berrios has been named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the period August 5-11. The Midwest League and MLB Baseball Advanced Media determine the award.
During that period, Berrios made one start (on August 10), scattering two hits over 7.1 IP while striking out seven and walking just one. The Twins selected Walker in the compensation round (32nd overall) of the 2012 First Year Player draft out of Papa Juan (PR) HS and he spent last season with the GCL and Elizabethton Twins.
D.J. Peterson of the Clinton LumberKings was named the MWL Player of the Week for the same period.
The Kernels conclude a six game road trip tonight in Kane County at 6:30 pm. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, August 14 to open a three game home stand against the Beloit Snappers.
