
Rays Nab Floro, Maile As July's Best in the Minors

Bowling Green, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods, in conjunction with the Tampa Bay Rays, announce that RHP Dylan Floro and C Luke Maile have been named the Rays Minor League Pitcher and Player of the Month, respectively. This is the second time this season that the Hot Rods have swept the Rays monthly awards.
Floro, 22, allowed just two earned runs in July in 32.2 innings pitched, which was good for a 0.55 ERA. The righty, who was called up to the Advance-A Charlotte Stone Crabs on Saturday, was 2-0 in five starts, leading the Hot Rods to a 4-1 record during his starts.
Maile, 22, hit .383 in 60 games for the Hot Rods in July with two home runs and 14 runs batted in. Entering play on Monday, the former Kentucky Wildcat has reached base safely in 27 of 29 appearances. Maile, an Edgewood, KY native, is hitting .300 in the second half. This is the second time this season that the Hot Rods have swept the Rays Minor League Players of the Month Awards. In April, Jeff Ames and Andrew Toles were honored as the Pitcher and Player of the Month, respectively. Tommy Coyle was also honored as the Rays Minor League Player of the Month in June.
Bowling Green continues their ten-game road trip with the finale in Lake County on Monday night at 6:00 PM CDT. The Hot Rods will give the start to LHP Kevin Brandt (0-0, 0.00) opposite the Captains RHP Robbie Aviles (3-3, 3.78). Hank Fuerst will be on the call on the Hot Rods Radio Network (1340 "The Ticket" WBGN-AM and 1340wbgn.com). The Forever Communications Pregame Show begins at 5:30 PM CDT.
A six-game homestand for the Hot Rods will start on Wednesday, August 21 against the West Michigan Whitecaps, featuring an IGA All-You-Can-East Wednesday buffet.
