Jesper Pettersson Reassigned to Phantoms

Lehigh Valley, PA - The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have reassigned defenseman Jesper Pettersson from the Reading Royals of the ECHL to the Phantoms.

A 21-year-old blueliner from Stockholm, Sweden, Pettersson is in the midst of his second professional season and has registered one goal, one assist, two points and eight penalty minutes in 14 games with Lehigh Valley this year. During his first pro campaign, the 5'8", 192-pound defender registered two goals, five assists, seven points and 35 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Phantoms. Pettersson was a seventh-round selection (198th overall) by the Flyers in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

The Phantoms return from the American Hockey League's holiday break this evening as they return to PPL Center for a 7:05 p.m. clash with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders. Tonight's game is another "20 Years of Phantoms" night with the second of four commemorative poster giveaways free to the first 3,000 fans in attendance.
