Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill. - In their first game back from the holiday break, the Rockford IceHogs (18-7-2-2) will face the Milwaukee Admirals (19-9-1-0) for the third meeting between the two squads over the last four contests.

Tickets remain for tonight's game and can be purchased online, by calling 815-968-5222, at the BMO Harris Bank Center box office, or at any Ticketmaster location including Walmart.

Tonight's contest will be broadcast live locally on WIFR's Justice Network on 23.3 and online at AHLLive.com. Television coverage kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with the IceHogs Warm Up pre-game show. A free audio feed is available via WXRX.com or by using the new IceHogs app. For instant updates throughout the game, follow the IceHogs on Twitter (@goicehogs).

In Monday's matchup, Milwaukee used three second period goals and two shorthanded goals in the third to pull away from Rockford, ultimately prevailing 6-2. The IceHogs defeated the Admirals in Milwaukee in a 6-2 decision on Dec. 18 in the first of four matches in 16 nights.

Despite the loss on Monday, the IceHogs still lead the Admirals and the rest of the Central Division in the standings with a .690 winning percentage and are 6-3-1-0 in their last 10 games.

Jeremy Morin has been red-hot for the IceHogs, earning points in each of his last four games (4g-3a). He leads Rockford in points (9g-11a-20pts) and has scored first for the team in three of the last four games. The all-time leading scorer for the IceHogs has scored a goal in four-in-a-row, which ties Ryan Hartman for the team's season long goal streak.

Special teams have hurt Rockford lately, as the penalty kill unit allowed three goals in a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Wolves on Dec. 19 which featured a season-high 95 penalty minutes for the IceHogs. The IceHogs also allowed a power-play goal and two shorthanded goals to the Admirals on Dec. 21.

The IceHogs will look to contain Max Reinhart, who picked up a hat trick in Monday's meeting. His three goals upped his season total to 10, which vaulted him into first place in goal scoring for the Admirals.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, Dec. 30 vs. Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m. The IceHogs host the Chicago Wolves in yet another Illinois Lottery Cup game. It's another "Winning Weekday" at the BMO Harris Bank Center. If the IceHogs win, every fan in attendance will receive a free ticket to the next weekday game. Fans can also enjoy $2 beers, sodas, hot dogs, and companion tickets.
