PROVIDENCE, RI- Austin Czarnik's 9th goal of the season wasn't enough to overcome the Devils' three goal lead, who went on to win it 4-1.

Just under half way through the first period, the Devils thought they notched a goal, but a shot from the right point was waived due to high stick. Providence fought back and quickly contributed their closest scoring opportunity of the period with the top line of DeFazio-Czarnik-Khokhlachev executing a textbook 3v1, but the shot just bounced off the post.

Albany found themselves on the power play with 45 seconds left in the 1st, with Andrew Cherniwchan in the box for tripping. The Devils capitalized on the power play for the first time in 6 games just 2o seconds into the man advantage. Blandisi found Lorito from behind the net, whose one-timer went high blocker side.

Providence had the lone power play opportunity in the second, but couldn't capitalize despite possessing the puck for the entirety of the man advantage. After the first 40 minutes, both teams had fired 17 shots on net.

O'Neil scored his first goal of the season 13 seconds into the third period. O'Neil one timed it glove side to double the Devils' lead.

5:49 into the third, Kelly dished the puck to McPherson who fired one off from the point into traffic in front of the net. Black redirected the low shot for notch his first goal of the season and give the Devils the 3-0 lead. This was Black's first goal of the season.

Austin Czarnik cut the lead to 2 just as a Providence power play expired. Ben Yours found Seth Griffith on the sideboards whose one time pass found the tape of Czarnik's stick. Czarnik fired low far side to put the P-Bruins on the board.

Tropp but the nail in the coffin for Providence with 1:13 left in regulation when he potted the empty net goal.

Providence is back home at the Dunk Sunday, January 3rd against the Rochester Americans.
