Comets Recall Clay Witt

Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher has announced that the club has recalled goaltender Clay Witt from the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL.

Witt, 24, appeared in one game this season for the Comets and made 18 saves in a 6-1 loss to the Albany Devils back on Oct. 31. With the Kalamazoo Wings, Witt has recorded a 0-4-0-0 record, a 4.35 goals against average, and an .866 save percentage in five games. He spent the 2014-15 season with Northeastern University where he posted a 11-10-2 record, a 2.83 goals against average, and a .904 save percentage in 23 games.

The 6'2", 200-pound Brandon, FL native played in 32 games during the 2013-14 campaign. He posted a 2.37 goals against average, and a .932 save percentage that was third best in the nation. Witt was a candidate for the Hobey Baker Award, and was a finalist for the Mike Richter Award.
