Jersey Auction Raises over $12,000; Condors Celebrate Young Readers Day

Upcoming week of November 10th - November 16th:

· Monday, November 10th - Director of Community Relations & Development John Ayre was a Celebrity Reader at Standard Elementary School beginning at 10:15am. Ayre read to three different classrooms, to children in 2nd- 4th grades. Standard Elementary School is located at 115 East Miner Avenue.

· Monday, November 10th - Condors wingers Todd Alexander and Darren Shakatko were Celebrity Readers at Downtown Elementary School beginning at 1:30pm. Alexander and Shakatko read to 4th and 5th grade classes as well as talking to them about the importance of an education. Downtown Elementary School is located at 2021 M Street.

· Monday, November 10th - Condors defenseman Randy Perry joined Director of Community Relations & Development John Ayre at the Outstanding Student Awards Ceremony at Stella Hills Elementary School from 1:00pm - 2:00pm. Perry handed out awards for perfect attendance, honor roll, and good behavior programs. Stella Hills Elementary School is located at 3800 Jewett Street.

· Wednesday, November 12th - Condors winger Todd Alexander will be take part in CASA's Kids Helping Kids program at Wayne Van Horn School beginning at 8:15am. CASA and Alexander will be collecting pennies from children that will be donated to CASA's children. Wayne Van Horn School is located at 5501 Klenpell Avenue.

· Wednesday, November 12th - Condors wingers Devin Francon and Jon Mirasty will be at Owens Intermediate School as Celebrity Readers from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. Francon will be reading to a 4th grade class and Mirasty will be reading to a 5th grade class. Owens Intermediate is located at 815 Eureka Avenue.

· Thursday, November 13th - Condors Todd Alexander and Darrin Shakatko will be at Thorner Elementary School's Installation Ceremony beginning at 8:30am. Alexander and Shakatko will be swearing in the new Athletic Manager for the 2003-2004 school year. Thorner Elementary School is located at 5501 Thorner Avenue.

· Friday, November 14th - Join the Condors as they host the San Diego Gulls as Bright House Networks, KERN 1410 & SBC Yellow Pages presents Team Photo Giveaway Night. Everyone in attendance receives a 2003-2004 Condors team photo. Also, Bright House Networks subscribers can receive $5.00 admission per person by presenting the coupon available in their cable bill. The night is also the first of six Condors Kids Club Nights. The Kids Club is sponsored by Bright House Networks, Bakersfield Californian, Cold Stone Creamery & Kern Schools Federal Credit Union All Kids Club members receive free admission to tonight's game. The Condors Kids Club membership includes admission to six weekend Condors Games, a Kids Club T-shirt, a $5.00 savings account at Kern Schools Federal Credit Union, a membership ID card, and exclusive parties with players and mascots, all for just $20.00. Week in Review:

· Saturday, November 8th - The Condors hosted the Alaska Aces for KUZZ 107.9 Veterans Day Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle & Auction. The Condors honored America's Veterans by wearing special red, white and blue Veteran's Day jerseys, which were auctioned off after the game, raising $12,075 with proceeds going to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
